Refugee - By Alan Gratz

Hello I'm Amber. In literacy, we have been reading aloud, the amazing book, Refugee.

This book is about three kids, Josef, Isabel and Mahmoud. All their stories are connected in some small way. They lose people they love and they grow up too fast.

I think this book is amazing! I love everything about this story. Isabel story was my favourite by far. Mahmoud was my second favourite then Josef.

Do you request any other books for me to read? Have you read any book by Alan Gratz? Have you read anything about refugees? Have you read this book before?

  3. Hi Amber, I really like that language you have used in your Biteable to describe the novel. It really makes an interesting read, and would make people want to read the book.
I think that the way the stories were slightly linked was really clever, I was particularly surprised the way Lito was the policeman.
There are some other books by Alan Gratz on the book shelf, perhaps you could read another one, and then do a review on it, comparing the two.
Great blog post Amber, well done.

  4. Kia ora Amber, I am from Gisborne Intermediate School
I love the language you have used. I happen to have read that book not too long ago in literacy as well.
Maybe next time you should put a bit more about the book into your post

    Kind regards
